To turn on live location sharing as an Uber passenger, follow these steps:
- Open the Uber app and request a ride as usual.
- Once connected to a driver, locate the live location sharing icon at the bottom-right corner of the map. This icon will pulse when active.
- Tap the icon to enable or disable live location sharing. Enabling it will allow your driver to see your movement as you approach the pickup spot. This can help ensure timely pickups, especially if you’re in motion or slightly away from the pinned location.
- Alternatively, you can manage this feature through Settings:
- Go to Account > Settings > Privacy > Location.
- Toggle the “Share Location with Your Driver” option on or off.
Live location sharing is only active during the pickup process and turns off automatically once the trip begins. You can also stop sharing your location at any time during the ride.
