History
Boulevard Brewing was founded in 1989 by John McDonald, a former employee of the Falstaff Brewing Corporation. McDonald started the brewery in a renovated warehouse in the West Bottoms neighborhood of Kansas City. The brewery’s first beer was Boulevard Pale Ale, which was released in 1990.
Boulevard Brewing quickly became a popular local brewery, and its beers began to be distributed to other states in the mid-1990s. In 2007, Boulevard Brewing was acquired by Duvel Moortgat, a Belgian brewery company.
